[Mulawin] 12/11/2004 11:38:33 PM

this coming week, watch out for aguiluz and rasmus in a fight, at least based on what was based on the mulawin trailer this evening.

well, if Mulagat lives then he'll fit as candidate for the Sugo. hehe :p

pero meron ng pahiwatig yung show that it could be Aguiluz, Alwyna, or Gabriel.

nothing is ever right until mapanood na talaga sa tv. :p

I ALWAYS BELIEVE THAT EVERYTHING HAPPENED FOR A REASON..
..AND I REALLY DNT BELIEVE THAT SHE DIED
(AVOINA)..COZ NO DEAD BODY FOUND..reading on the posted comment i find that a lot of fans out there really have this speculation that alwina, aguiluz, gabriel or aviona ARE the "SUGO"... i think this gone out hand..how can there be 4 sugo in ONE TV SERIES..this can't BE..their will always be one sugo!!!

i like the episode last night na nagkita na sina alwina ,aguiuz at gabriel...

thanks south rock..as i'v said im always here..d mo man ako nakikita na nagpopost d2..im alwys around reading comments of other mulawin fans out there..so i know what's really going on!!!

as the story of goes nearer to the tree of mulawin..with one down(taong bato)..they have to pass another obstcles..and its good to know that gabriel is with them coz..he'l be a great help!! altough..magkakaron ng mga jealous blue ni aguluz..maganda pa ring panoorin..kong paano nag jelly si aguiuz..kay gabriel at ganun din si gbriel!!!

I think ABS is just exaggerating the show in a way that more and more people are watching it.

Just part of their dirty tactics?

I posted in the other article a comment about Aviona being another potential Chosen One:)

And we haven't exactly heard any news about it from Chika Minute:)

Besides, Bianca King is too popular to just be cut off the show without any qualms i think. Something is up, and we'll find it out before the whole series wrpas up

BTW, I never knew Mulawin was in its second season, di ko nga alam applied ang season dito sa pinas:) good to know still:)

thanx!!!

[Mulawin] 12/9/2004 11:41:44 PM

i sure do hope that aviona is still alive, not because i'd go insane if she won't, but because it's getting to be tiring to see whines of those who wants her back.

no offense guys, but what if, just if, she has decided to stop doing mulawin? that's something we can't demand from her.

however, if she hasn't decided on leaving, but the writers have presented what her role would be prior to casting, then she knows when her role would end. and it's not something anyone should demand from anyone.

bianca is only working. either her role ends as how it was thought earlier on, or she may have decided to leave the show.

but then again, let's see if she does come back. and if she does, then i'd be happy for her fans. she still has some loose ends to tighten. if i am not mistaken, and if i remember it right, aviona left the scouts before. she also has lied about a couple of things.

hopefully, when she comes back, she would be able to justify why she did what she did.

to everyone, peace!

And it wasn't me who made a post about English. It was Quill Driver (so Admin).

bluedove,

It's been a long time since I last saw you post here (you and bjsg). Good to see you. I agree. It would be better for Christine to be a bratty Taguba. It would give her a better chance of showcasing her talent as an actress.

I saw the trailer. Hmm. I've been wondering where Ravenum went. Looks like it's not the last we're gonig to see of Michael de Mesa as Rasmus' father. He fits well into the role. Galing nung pumili sa kanya.

Maybe there are 4 Sugo: Aguiluz, Alwina, Aviona and GAbriel. That way, everyone will be happy for their idol. :)

P.S. I think Alex da Rossi would've made a good Taguba too. She's a natural. They should throw her and Savannah and Estrealla into a steel-cage a la Ultimate Fighting. Sino kaya ang panalo?

we are all in grief for aviona's DEATH? but like i said a major character should die in a story pero hindi ngyon, i think she just flew away to a safer place para pigilan nya ang sarili nya for killing aguiluz at alwina or maybe the other way around, she will do a "gollum" na bigla na lang su2lpot pag nkarating na sila sa puno ng mulawin. If GMA rilly decides to kill BIANCA KING'S character in mulawin soon just because gus2 lng nila panabikin ang mga fans ni2 for her next project maybe i-push through nila sya as MARA CLARA in NOLI next year since angel locsin will do DARNA. I believe bianca king will be the next soap opera princess very soon. we all love her ryt?

streetstopper,
For me, all Englishes are legit, although I don't find the kolehiyala Taglish kewl all the time. I do believe, however, that we have to be proficient in Standard English.

Standard English, and the basic rules of grammar and syntax that govern it, have to be taught. On the other hand, Standard English, is an instrument of social exclusion and cultural domination. Read more of David Crystal's view of the legitimcay of all World Englishes here.

South Rock,
I don't think this was annointed as an official blog by GMA 7, either. It is identified as 'mulawin-gma7' to distinguish it from other mulawin topics on the web (mulawin the tree/wood and Mulawin places Batangas, Angeles and Sagay, Negros?). The fans may consider this blog as the official fan blog, but GMA 7 does not. At least not yet.

it's saddening to note the pinoys still watch a TV show because of an actor and not because of it's story, plot, pace, script, cinematography, or direction.

this is also reflected on how well done movies rate at the tills. those which pinoys snub, usually are raved for abroad. those that earn more are usually the sloppy movies with sing-and-dance sequences that are out of context, or are with actors only the pinoy masa can love.

schindler's list, the piano, and the last temptation of christ are just three examples of movies that were either banned or candidates for cutting by those who think know better. but alas! these movies turned out to be good movies actually. has anyone seen the rainman and said it would win an award prior to the oscars? what about shakespear in love? has anyone thought it would get the oscar's best picture award?

maybe it's the current education system that needs to be blamed. our english efficiency is going downhill. you can see how students converse in english these days. it is almost all broken, intermixed with tagalog (or filipino if you still want to call it). "wait lang ha!" "grabe, it's so kadiri talaga!" "let's go to the canteen na. i'm gutom na kasi eh." and of course, let's not forget the ever famous line of one narcisstic, self-centered, egoistic brat: "you're super rich na talaga!" this adds insult to an already injured intellectual state of filipino youth.

english efficiency is not our only problem. our mathematical and scientific minds are going down too. filipino-made textbooks could very well prove this. it's just so sad and we are in a very sorry state.

not a few days ago, finnish students were ranked as number one in the world [source]. i wonder if we have joined the said exam, or if we did, where we would be.

while i would be happy if mulawin or any show would have high ratings (as i should be unbiased to both networks ha!) i would be happier if a tv show could capture the minded group of the country. this would then reflect how a tv show is given importance. but on the other hand, the masa still has the number, and we are all affected by the ratings game; and the healthy doesn't need a doctor.

I think I will take up for Asrai. I understand your feelings, Batmic. If my own favorites in a show got killed, I would be upset too. If Aviona is really dead, I would be unhappy too. But you're going too far blaming another Mulawin fan (who is also an avid fan of Aviona). If you're going to make personal attacks on other bloggers, I think your posts should be moderated.

Asrai does not have enough time to post to her blog channel everyday. That's why the INDIGO channel has not been updated yet. Second, comments are enabled in that blog, so there's no reason why you couldn't have posted there and voiced your opinions (in a polite way of course, that does not attack the blog editor). Third, the Quick Comment box is always there. Fourth, you can't force GMA 7 to read what it's in the Mulawin Network. As far as I know, it's only THIS blog that is official. I don't see any signs of the Network being official unless I miss something.

Anyway, if it's any sign of hope, consider that Lovers in Paris is now quickly becoming the talk of the town. GMA 7 staff aren't stupid. They know they need Aviona to keep the show afloat in the ratings game, and they should know how to play. So I'm still hoping and believing she'll be back. I think maybe they did this to inflame the emotions of fans on purpose because would be waiting and seeing if she comes back. You tell us to stop watching the show. HOW are we to know when she comes back then if we don't watch? Do you want to miss the scene when/if she DOES reappear?

With all due respect, Batmic, you can do what you want to do, and so can others. I respect your opinion. But don't go too far and start jumping on Asrai and other fans who haven't done anything wrong and who love the show just as much as you do. Mulawin fans have often been praised for their intelligence, good sense and good taste. So let’s not ruin that by bludgeoning one another to pieces over this.

If you want, try emailing GMA 7. They have an email address in the iGMA site. Just browse through and I think you'll find it.

P.S. Bianca King is featured in “Kapuso, Kapasko, Kapanalo.” That young talent is here to stay with GMA 7.

Okay, as you might have guessed: Perico is Spanish for parakeet (a parrot). So I think we can spell it either way.

I don't think the Mulawin team is insane enough to haev killed Aviona just like that. I'll believe it when the body is found, but what would they do that for since the show isn't going to end anytime soon (proof of that is Lourdes' 2-seegment dream)?

The show's creators are doing this for the money and ratings. They should know that fans can be broadly divided into 2 groups. I learned this from watching sports like boxing and tennis. I'd call them (for want of a better term) the "inner" and the "outer" circle of fans. The inner group of fans are the hard-core fans of, say, boxing itself. They go and see the matches very often and love the sport for its own sake. The outer circle of fans are those who watch only when there's a special event, or when they're favorite acthlete is going to see action. For example, many women don't like boxing, but when it was Oscar de la Hoya in the ring, they came in droves. :) When their favorite is gone, then they abandon the sport.

What producers of both sports and showbiz programs know (and ought to know) is that the outer circle of fans is what adds to the size of the fan base. I think it is generaly larger than the "hard core" group in the center. The core group will stay loyal to the show/sport no matter what happens. Example: Marina. Many of its fans stuck with it to the very end even when the story got sloppy and many former fans had switched to Mulawin. The ones who left belonged to the outer circle. What producers and staff should be careful about is the outer circle. That's where a lot of their money and attention comes from, and what makes the show "mainstream" (?). If you take someone out like Aviona who is has a huge fan base, you take away a large bulk of fans devoted to the show.

So considering that, it doesn't really make sense to kill off Aviona, and that's why I don't believe it. Sure, Mulagat and others were killed, but they never had such a strong following as she does.

Remember Anna Kournikova? She always played to jam-packed stadiums wherever she went. I'm not comparing Bianca King with her since I found Anna boring (what WAS all the fuss about?) and uninteresting. But tennis makes a lot of money through her and other endorsable personalities like Andre Agassi. They attract even those who aren't really fans of the sport. Same with Bianca King. Because of her, even people who aren't really fans of fantasy go and watch the show.

Well, sorry for the long post. Just my own personal view, so no offense to anybody. :)

Then it should be Taguba. I've never seen where the parrot-men are mentioned because the iGMA page is not being updaetd. (I wish it would be so we'd get all the names and terms right.) I also saw how they spell "Savana" not like Savannah as in the ones in Africa. Maybe I should ask djbrix to search and replace using his word processor. :) Or maybe that is just one good reminder that the narratievs in the blog network are unofficial. :)

Thanks for ths screen grabs, streestopper! ;)

P.S. I wish there'd be less of the network-bashing. Anyway, someone told me last night when they went to a clinic that folks there were talking about Lovers in Paris. I hope this motivates the Mulawin team to make the show even better and listen to the constructive criticism of its fans.

Please have one screencap per post at the Mulawin Network. The main page will be very difficult to load once we have 14 days of screencaps if you put all the screencaps of one night's show in a single post. :) I have changed the setting so that the archiving will be daily. This way, one can view all the screen caps of the day by clicking on the archive for that day.

I always consider the iGMA Mulawin page and the teasers on TV as the source of correct spelling (e.g. Periko, not Perico). I also saw that they spelled it Taguba. I prefer to use the same name without an 's' at the end for the plural because that's the way it is in Tagalog and other Malay languages. (e.g. Ang mga Mulawin ay... is translated as The Mulawin are...)

streetstopper, Quill Driver et al,

That was a bad joke they played about Vultra finding out the truth. Akala ko pa naman talagang super-bilis ang pacing na. :)) But I think she will find out soon, anyway. I started to have doubts when Rasmus showed up and then stabbed Vultra. Sure, he's wicked and jealous. But I think he's too stupid to act that swiftly. :D

but then again, the actors don't need to re-shoot the entire sequence of how vultra knew of alwina's existence because they can use what they have shown tonight...that's if the writers won't decide later on to add some more twists or change everything a bit.

Who is the real Emissary (Sugo)? A voice told Alwina in a dream that it's not her. Of course, it could very well be just a dream, and Balasik cannot lie. But I don't know if it's me or not, or the crew.... that voice who told her that sounded like Aguiluz's mother. What could that mean?

At the same time that Aguiluz's mother made that apparition, Rasmus had a flashback of the time when he killed Aguilar. Recently, I've been asking how Aguilar found out about Bagwis' child. Since his wife (Aguiluz's mother) clearly was/is no common Mulawin (maybe she was/is a Diwata or some high being), then maybe it was from her he made the discovery. And he went there alone to try to salvage the egg.

Since ratings are said to haev dropped slightly, and there's a challenge from another show or two, then I honestly think it's time to quicken the pace like before. Time for Gabriel's mystery to be unraveled. It's also a bad time for Aviona to go MIA. Get back here, Aviona. What happened to you? :) I wnoder if Perena has found some use for her, or if some being saved her.

south rock,

the apple scene was a bit too short.

the apple scene: aviona says that she will go and get food for them three. after aviona leaves, aguiluz mentions about the coming tests that they would have to go thru, and then mentions if alwina could trust him as regards dakila's information as to where the tree is. eventually, aguiluz felt slighted because of alwina's refusal to divulge the info, and he left...then aviona is seen with an apple in her hand, as vultra tells her to follow and kill aguiluz. then the scene cuts to estrella and balasik where she asks balasik what's her name and what she does, and what's the stone's name was.

and yes, aviona may not know who vultra's real daughter is, but she knows that savana is not. what she knows is only half of the story, but it's still the truth anyways.

[Mulawin] 12/7/2004 07:01:19 AM

And streestopper, I don't see how Aviona could know who Alwina's real parents are.

will aviona get burned by the fire she has started?

will she be able to tell vultra that savana is not her real daughter before she gets burned?

what will vultra do if ever aviona would tell her this?

what would she do with savana?

will she turn against her husband if ever she knows about half of this truth?

it seems that aviona has a bigger role coming up. and i don't think aviona is going either considering what she has sacrificed for the show.

[Mulawin] 12/6/2004 11:03:13 PM

it is indeed difficult for any writer to come up with a story that's rather original than adaptation especially for a soap with epic-like proportions.

foundation is the correct term, and that may be the reason why this tale soars.

but then again, an adaptation of so many tales rather makes this soap an interesting one because it weaves a great tale and makes one enjoy the show, at least for me.

screen caps are already available (on the network blog), and the blow by blow report was posted on the previous day's entry.

[Mulawin] 12/6/2004 10:24:01 PM

For me, I enjoy asking myself, "Hmm, where did they get this line/concept/scene?" Because overall, the show is excellent, for a soap at that. From the many references that the story made, it would have collapsed already if it weren't standing on its own strong foundation. The story can save itself, don't you think? :)

[Mulawin] 12/6/2004 07:31:12 AM

bundukero,

I understand you. I had the same fears when I first heard that Mulawin would be extended beyond January. And now, more and more characters are being added. I don't like it on one hand, because it complicates the story and gives less exposure to the main characters (shorter air-time). On the other hand, I cannot help but praise the casting directors and the rest of the team, because the characters they add seem to fit well. Especially since the actors are all well-picked. I think Princess Punzalan makes a great woman-warrior, and Christine Reyes could out-perform her sister there if she does well. (She's a bratinella, as we know, and since her role her is that of a rebellious girl-warrior, it fits her.)

Also, remember Mulagat. He was never in the original script, yet his presence added depth and a twist to the story of Linang and Habagat.

I don't think there'll be aliens and robots. I do know in "Krystala," Hero Angeles plays a futuristic soldier who returns to the past a la "Terminator." :)

Aguiluz does seem like a burden sometimes, especially since Alwina cannot fly during the daytime because of him. And lately, she has been the one saving him instead of the other way around. But I find his character very noble and loyal. He'll play an important role in her quest, that's for sure.

By the way, the word "sugo" literally means an ambassador. In a spiritual sense (which is how it is used in the show) it seems to mean one sent by divine decree to fulfill an important task. It can also mean "angel" because an angel is a messenger of God. But it's not clear whose "sugo" Alwina is because it is never mentioned. Is it the mighty Bathala who sent her? Or is it used in a figurative way, meaning she is the ambassador or messenger of the whole race of Mulawin to the rest of the world?

I wonder, who will the Tagubas encounter? Dakila's group is on the way to Halconia, not Avila. And what if striking Gabriel changes him back to his human form? Will he give up the berdeng binhi then? Or quarrel with Maningning over it?

I was just wondering na noon po tanggap ko naman na mas malakas ang ch.2 when it comes to rating pero congratulations po at toprater na ang marami sa programs ninyo pero bakit di matanggap ng 'IBA' na mataas na ang rating nyo? Kasi po me nabasa ako na me dayaan na daw po ngayon sa rating....nakakatawa naman sila ! nung sila ang nangunguna sa rating e ibinabandera nila yun... ngayon nung nakalamang na ang majority of GMA programs, sinasabing may dayaan na sa rating...how disgusting! well, more power po sa GMa lalo na sa eat bulaga.

hi hannah,
It's nice of you to drop by. You are very observant. I just wish most of the TV viewers are like you.

south rock,

well, i didn't really recall, per se, where the girls were from. i had to review the recording i had and found out that i already have deleted it. good thing i don't empty my recycle bin so the files were still there. hehehe.

on the other hand, the girls, as were the rest of the humans, are "taga-patag," meaning, low-lander. the only difference with them, is that they are an all-female group, and that their men were "kidnapped" by the ravena guys, who, possibly, were converted to being ravenas.

MULAWIN is the best teleserye/telenovela that I watched eversince. But I am beginning to be disappointed to the creators of Mulawin. The show is extended, lots of new characters, and the story is being mixed beyond the original Mulawin story.

Aguiluz has become annoying, he is more of a burden for the sugo Alwina. He distracts the sugo, that's why the journey becomes harder.

So what's the BIG difference between the Tagubas and taga-patags? What kind of Taong-Hayop will be added as new characters? Maybe Aliens and Robots might arrive also. Hey MULAWIN writers, don't let MULAWIN suffer the same fate as Sana Ikaw Na Nga, Marinara, Te Amo, etc.

Let the show end in glory, not in sudden death and shame

Thanks for recalling the name of her hometown, streetstopper! I knew it sounded like that! I've just posted the narrative here. So they are called Tagubas? Grrl power indeed! :)
