For me, all Englishes are legit, although I don't find the kolehiyala Taglish kewl all the time. I do believe, however, that we have to be proficient in Standard English.


Standard English, and the basic rules of grammar and syntax that govern it, have to be taught. On the other hand, Standard English, is an instrument of social exclusion and cultural domination. Read more of David Crystal's view of the legitimcay of all World Englishes here.
