[Mulawin] 12/6/2004 07:31:12 AM

bundukero,

I understand you. I had the same fears when I first heard that Mulawin would be extended beyond January. And now, more and more characters are being added. I don't like it on one hand, because it complicates the story and gives less exposure to the main characters (shorter air-time). On the other hand, I cannot help but praise the casting directors and the rest of the team, because the characters they add seem to fit well. Especially since the actors are all well-picked. I think Princess Punzalan makes a great woman-warrior, and Christine Reyes could out-perform her sister there if she does well. (She's a bratinella, as we know, and since her role her is that of a rebellious girl-warrior, it fits her.)

Also, remember Mulagat. He was never in the original script, yet his presence added depth and a twist to the story of Linang and Habagat.

I don't think there'll be aliens and robots. I do know in "Krystala," Hero Angeles plays a futuristic soldier who returns to the past a la "Terminator." :)

Aguiluz does seem like a burden sometimes, especially since Alwina cannot fly during the daytime because of him. And lately, she has been the one saving him instead of the other way around. But I find his character very noble and loyal. He'll play an important role in her quest, that's for sure.

By the way, the word "sugo" literally means an ambassador. In a spiritual sense (which is how it is used in the show) it seems to mean one sent by divine decree to fulfill an important task. It can also mean "angel" because an angel is a messenger of God. But it's not clear whose "sugo" Alwina is because it is never mentioned. Is it the mighty Bathala who sent her? Or is it used in a figurative way, meaning she is the ambassador or messenger of the whole race of Mulawin to the rest of the world?

I wonder, who will the Tagubas encounter? Dakila's group is on the way to Halconia, not Avila. And what if striking Gabriel changes him back to his human form? Will he give up the berdeng binhi then? Or quarrel with Maningning over it?
